Wednesdays, 9am - noon weekly $8 members/ $12 non-members per class Are you looking for an inspiring studio environment to work on your own projects? Bring your own materials in the medium of your choice and enjoy working alongside other area artists to jump start your creative process. This informal, drop-in group will meet Wednesday mornings on an ongoing basis. The group’s facilitator (that's me) will be available to students to provide inspiration, and light guidance on projects, when requested. MINDFUL PAINTING in OIL

Wednesdays, 6-9pm March 17-April 21st, 2010 $80 members / $90 non-members Learning to see is fundamental to all artists. This class is intended to encourage artists in a light-minded, fun approach. Our first class will explore the essentials in painting from the types of oil paint we use, the brushes we choose, mediums, solvents & the best support for our purpose. From here we will enter into the basics in color theory, the effects of light & dark values, form, shape & their relation to positive & negative space. We will paint from life exploring each of these concepts throughout the course of six weeks & will engage in weekly critiques. All levels are welcome & encouraged to join us.
